Our staff at Kentuckiana Animal Clinic will be glad to work with you on any of your pet's needs. We have answers to your questions on flea and heartworm protection, vaccinations, spay and neutering surgeries, special dietary needs, grooming and boarding concerns and much more. Our Owensboro hospital is equiped with state-of-the-art equipment to offer quality care and our staff is dedicated to uphold that quality in the care of your pet.

Dr. Laura Boarman

Dr. Laura Boarman is a native of Owensboro, KY. After completing her undergraduate studies at Western Kentucky University, she attended Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 2010. She actually joined the Kentuckiana family early in her high school days as an assistant and continued to work with us into her college years. We were pleased to welcome her back as a veterinarian after graduation. Her professional interests are in dentistry and preventative medicine. In her spare time she can be found enjoying the great outdoors with her husband Adam and son Eli. Dr. Boarman has 2 Australian Shepherds and 2 cats that round out her energetic family.

Dr. William E. Purdy

A native of Owensboro, KY., Dr. William A Purdy attended undergraduate studies at Western Kentucky University before completing his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in June of 1973. He joined the Kentuckiana Animal Clinic team immediately afterwards and had been here ever since. Dr. Purdy has special interests in reproductive medicine and dentistry. In his leisure he can be found enjoying duck hunting and fishing, he also shows and raises Dandie Dinmont Terriers.

Dr. Katie Willis

Dr. Katie Willis joined our Kentuckiana Animal Clinic family in 2008, after graduating from Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from Evansville, Indiana, she now makes her home here in Owensboro with her husband and their furry children, dogs Maxine and Ruby and cat, Gus. Her professional interests include endocrinology, ophthalmology, and infectious diseases. Outside of our clinic you can find Dr. Willis enjoying travel, camping and spending time with friends and family.

Thorpe

Dr. Robyn Thorpe

Kentuckiana Animal Clinic welcomed Dr. Robyn Thorpe to our practice in April, 2014. She is a graduate of Purdue University and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Her professional areas of interest are in preventative medicine and ophthalmology.

Dr. Thorpe currently lives in Indiana with her husband, dog and several cats. During any spare time she may have, you can find her doing crafty projects or thinking of returning to horseback riding.

Ben-bates

Ben Bates, CVPM

Ben Bates CVPM, is our hospital practice manager here at Kentuckiana Animal Clinic. A native of Francisco, IN. he now calls Evansville home. He has been in the animal industry for about 16 years in various capacities such as animal control officer, kennel worker, veterinary assistant, receptionist and manager. He joined our Kentuckiana family in December, 2013. Ben has continually worked to improve and enhance the experiences our clients and patients have here at Kentuckiana Animal Clinic.

Ben makes his home with his beautiful wife and two gorgeous little girls that keep them very busy and going in all directions. Rounding out this energetic family is Conner, the German Shepherd, and Chaser, the 5 year old domestic shorthair cat. In his precious spare time Ben enjoys spending time with family and friends, photography, fishing and various other outdoor activities.

Tara-connor

Tara Connor, LVT

Technician Tara Connor is a native of Whitesville, KY and joined the Kentuckiana family in 2012. She is a graduate of Murray State University with a BS degree in Animal Health Technology. Her professional interests are in animal dentistry, clinical laboratory work and exceptional patient care.

Tara makes her home with her dog Ladybug and Monk, the cat. She enjoys lots of outdoor activities such as fishing, riding four-wheelers and spending time with family and friends.

Kristie

Kirstie Ballard, LVT

Kirstie Ballard, LVT is a native of Owensboro, KY. She is a graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Health Technology. Kirstie first started volunteering at Kentuckiana Animal Clinic in 2011 and joined full time as a technician in 2015. Her professional interests are in wound management, animal dentistry and providing excellent care to all patients. Kirstie lives in Owensboro with her fiancé Aaron and is the proud parent to one spoiled dog, “Goober” and 3 cats, Rebel, Hamlet and Kairi. She enjoys helping coach and instruct color guard teams and spending quality time with friends and family.

Leah

Leah Taylor

Leah Taylor is a native of Calhoun, KY. She joined the Kentuckiana family in 2010 and has quickly made a name for herself in the hospital. Her professional interests are in animal dentistry and orthopedics. Leah’s way with cats and all things cat-like have earned her the title of “Cat Wrangler” here at the hospital. Her dedication and love of all animals shows here at Kentuckiana and at her home. She resides in Owensboro now with 3 very loved cats, Maebe, Frito and Carlos. Ricki the dog and a blue parakeet named Skylar round out the family.

Felicia-ramsey

Felicia Ramsey

Felicia Ramsey is a native of Hardinsburg, KY and joined the Kentuckiana family in June 2015 as an intern. Along with her many hours at the clinic, she is also a student at Owensboro Community College, where she will graduate in May 2016 with an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology. Her primary professional interests are in companion animal dentistry and radiography. In her spare time, she can be found kayaking the many lakes and rivers of the area or working with her church youth group.
